What We Cover

Weekly intelligence on the topics that move enterprise AI programs

Each issue focuses on one topic with enough depth to be genuinely useful. Not a link roundup. Not a summary of what everyone else wrote. Original practitioner analysis.

AI Governance and Risk
Model risk management, EU AI Act implications, regulatory developments in financial services and healthcare, board-level AI governance practices, and how leading enterprises are building defensible AI programs.
GenAI at Enterprise Scale
Practical analysis of generative AI deployment patterns, Copilot program outcomes, LLM selection for enterprise use cases, RAG architecture decisions, and adoption measurement in organizations with 10,000 or more employees.
AI Platform Analysis
Vendor-neutral analysis of Azure AI, Google Cloud Vertex AI, AWS Bedrock, and major AI platform developments. We assess enterprise fit, total cost of ownership, and integration complexity without vendor relationships affecting the analysis.
MLOps and Production AI
Model deployment patterns, inference optimization, monitoring and drift detection, feature store design, and the MLOps practices that distinguish organizations that ship AI from those that pilot it indefinitely.
AI Talent and Organization
AI CoE design, hiring frameworks for AI roles, upskilling programs at enterprise scale, the organizational structures that accelerate AI deployment, and how leading enterprises are managing the AI talent gap without overpaying for unicorns.
AI ROI and Business Cases
How leading enterprises build credible AI business cases, ROI measurement frameworks for production AI, the financial metrics that matter to CFOs evaluating AI programs, and case-by-case analysis of documented AI ROI outcomes.
Recent Issues

What the last few issues covered

Each issue is focused, specific, and written to be immediately useful. Here is a sample of recent coverage.

Issue #47 — Governance
What the EU AI Act actually requires of your enterprise AI program by August 2026
The practical compliance checklist most enterprises are missing. We cover the 7 specific documentation requirements, the 3 organizational changes needed before the compliance deadline, and why "AI system" is defined more broadly than most legal teams have assumed.

Issue #46 — GenAI
Why 68% of enterprise Copilot deployments fail to reach their adoption targets — and how to fix it
The adoption failure pattern we see repeatedly: strong initial enthusiasm, 30-day plateau at 20% adoption, quiet abandonment by month three. We analyze the 4 organizational changes that determine whether Copilot reaches 70%+ adoption versus becoming an expensive experiment.

Issue #45 — Platforms
Azure OpenAI vs. direct OpenAI for enterprise: the TCO analysis vendors do not want you to run
We ran the numbers across 12 enterprise scenarios. The results challenge the conventional wisdom that Azure OpenAI is always the right choice for Microsoft shops. The specific scenarios where direct OpenAI costs 40% less, and where Azure's enterprise controls justify the premium.

Issue #44 — MLOps
The model monitoring gap: why 40% of production AI models degrade undetected for 90 or more days
Data drift is not the hard problem in production AI monitoring. The hard problem is knowing what your model's outputs mean when the drift patterns are ambiguous. We cover the 5 monitoring signals that actually predict performance degradation before it reaches users.

Issue #43 — Strategy
The 3 AI use cases that delivered the highest documented ROI across our client portfolio in 2025
Anonymized breakdown of three production deployments — one in financial services, one in manufacturing, one in healthcare — with full ROI model, deployment timeline, and the specific factors that made these investments work while similar initiatives at comparable organizations failed.

Issue #42 — Talent
The AI CoE staffing model that works at 5,000 employees — and the one that does not
We analyzed 20 enterprise AI CoE designs and found two dominant models. One scales. One becomes a bottleneck at 8 to 12 concurrent projects. The difference is not headcount — it is the decision rights model and the interface between centralized AI capability and business unit product owners.

Who Subscribes

5,000+ enterprise AI leaders read every issue

The AI Advisory Insider is read by the leaders who are making enterprise AI decisions right now, not the people who will evaluate them in two years.

Chief Information Officers who need an independent signal on AI platform decisions, AI governance requirements, and how to evaluate their AI program against comparable enterprises.
Chief Data Officers and data leaders who need practical guidance on AI-ready data infrastructure, feature engineering at scale, and data governance for production AI.
VP AI and Head of AI roles who are building enterprise AI programs and need honest external perspective on what is working at comparable organizations versus what is marketing theater.
CFOs and finance executives who are approving AI investment and need independent ROI frameworks that are not produced by the vendors whose products they are evaluating.
Chief Risk Officers in regulated industries who need timely intelligence on AI governance requirements, regulatory developments, and model risk management practices.
Enterprise architects and technical leaders who are making AI platform and infrastructure decisions and want vendor-neutral analysis from practitioners with hands-on production experience.
What Subscribers Say

Why enterprise leaders keep reading

"The only AI newsletter that does not feel like it was written to sell me something. The EU AI Act issue alone was worth a year of subscriptions. I forwarded it to our GC and it changed how we approached our compliance timeline."

"I read about 15 AI newsletters. I stopped 12 of them. This one and two others are all I read now. The difference is that these are written by people who have actually done the work. The Copilot adoption issue described our exact situation with uncomfortable accuracy."

"I use the AI Advisory Insider as prep material before board-level AI discussions. The ROI analysis and governance content is exactly the level of rigor that boards are increasingly asking for. It helps me have more informed conversations with our independent directors."

About the Authors

Written by the practitioners, not about them

Every issue of The AI Advisory Insider is written by a senior partner at this practice. The authors are the same practitioners who lead advisory engagements for Fortune 500 enterprises: former leaders from Google Cloud AI, Microsoft Azure AI, McKinsey's Global AI Practice, and Accenture's AI Practice.

The newsletter is not a content marketing product managed by a communications team. It is written by advisors who spent the previous week inside enterprise AI programs, and who write the newsletter based on what they actually observed and learned. That means the intelligence is current, specific, and based on real production experience rather than analyst report summaries.

We established a simple editorial principle when we launched The AI Advisory Insider: we only write about topics where we have direct production experience or where we have seen a pattern across multiple enterprise engagements. We do not write about AI trends we have read about. We write about AI challenges we have navigated firsthand.

The newsletter has zero advertising and zero vendor sponsorship. The writing is not influenced by platform partnerships because we do not have them. If we write that Azure AI is not the right choice for a specific scenario, it is because it was not the right choice in the engagements where we evaluated it.
